Avian flu, C. difficile
infections, meningitis: humans are continually bombarded with disease names and
microbial threats, and every one of them appears more frightening than the last.
However, even the cleanest and healthiest of individuals hosts no less than
100,000 billion bacterias – that’s 10 times more than the total number of cells
in our body! Fortunately, most germs reveal themselves harmless, or even very
useful. Beer, wine, cheese and bread are all made thanks to microorganisms.
The
Germs! Germs!Germs! exhibition transports
you to the world of microorganisms and explains how they live, how they’re used
and hygiene measures to help prevent their transmission.

This journey into the
microscopic universe is an opportunity to demystify the germs we hear about in
the news, to understand the issues surrounding them and to learn about possible
treatments. During their visit, children and adults
will be carried to the infinitely small scale, allowing them to walk alongside
giant germs and then to step into the intestine to discover the intestinal flora
that lives in it and protects it. Games, video images as well as magnificent
pictures complete the visit.
